  Welcome to the Guest House. Open floor concept plan, everything is located in one bright, loft-like room. Dining table is directly across from the kitchen island.

  The Guest House! Located in Wells New York, one block away from Lake Algonquin on the Sacandaga River, in the Adirondack State Park. Two bedrooms with one full bath upstairs, and an open floor plan living area with a porch downstairs.

  The shingles of Guest House are an interesting grey that looks blue in some light and brown in another. We love the lemon yellow of the door and the red roof!

  Comfortable and cozy living room area. We like to have coffee here in the morning and read books or the news while listening to music on the Sonos. Very quiet and cozy.

  It's so easy to jump up from the living room to prep some food or grab a drink and snacks from the kitchen.

  We have a "faux" fireplace which does give off heat, neat piece of furniture. We have a Samsung 50", and an Apple TV loaded with Netflix. Games, puzzles, and lots of books for curious minds. Sonos for music.

  We love books, and supply novels, reference books, comic books, classic literature and local history and information.

  The second bedroom is as comfortable as the master, with cool breezes at night thanks to the cross ventilation windows and an overhead fan. Plush bedding makes for a great night sleep. Cool art and posters warm up the room, making for a pleasant stay.

  The porch overlooks a backyard where you can relax. We planted maples and crabapple trees, arbor vitae, and other greenery, such as lilacs and raspberries. The birds love the backyard.

  The screened-in porch is cozy--great place to have coffee in the cool mornings, or to be out of the sun, but still outside. The screen does its job well, the bugs won't bother you!

  The front porch is fully screened in, you can eat, or read or sleep outside.

  The backyard is an interesting little space, to sit outside and read, grill, or just sun yourself. Growing trees and plants surround you in lots of green.

  We planted maples and crabapple trees, and everything is growing in nicely, creating a surround of green. Enjoy some privacy while sitting in the backyard.

Welcome to The Guest House, a sparkling clean retreat one block from Lake Algonquin.

With 2 queen beds, it sleeps 4 and is filled with charming antiques and local artwork. We've designed it with your comfort in mind and provide plenty of extras to make your stay easy and enjoyable. We're now dog-friendly, welcoming up to 2 well-behaved adult dogs.

There's lots to do in the area, from a beautiful 3.5-mile walk around Lake Algonquin to swimming, fishing, hiking, and exploring waterfalls. We provide a list of local attractions and activities.

For those who love scenic drives, there are several picturesque lakes within an hour's drive, including Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, and Saratoga Springs.

Downstairs you'll find an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, and a large flat screen TV with Netflix. We don't have phone or cable service, but you'll have Wi-Fi.

Outside, you can enjoy a charcoal grill, a spacious screened porch, and Adirondack chairs. The Guest House is conveniently located in Wells, within walking distance of Lake Algonquin, a town beach, a convenience store, and more.

In the winter, you can explore nearby skiing options, including Lapland Lake, Oak Mountain, and Gore. We also provide snowshoes and a list of winter hikes.

A few things to note:

- Verizon is the only cell service available; there's no landline.

- No washer/dryer, but there's one in town.
- We have an exterior security camera facing the driveway.
- Guests must agree to follow house instructions and sign our rental agreement.

Cancellation Policy: Ninety percent (90.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 45 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 45 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
